Leaves

Wanted to do something a little easier on the brain this week.  Moving away from narrative-based images turned out not to be as much fun, actually!  Still … I’ve been enjoying studying different trees (here, conifers).  Not sure what I’ll do with these exactly or if they fit with the others (they feel a little granny-ish?), but I do want to make some more at some point—oaks, maples, birches, etc.  Am indebted to Nancy Ross Hugo’s Seeing Trees and National Geographic’s Field Guide to the Trees of North America.

P.S.  Once I get into the broadleafs, will double as research for a new tattoo (which will redeem me from granny-hood!).
